These terms are the agreement between you and Bord Friends, LLC ("BORD", "we", "us"), an Indiana limited liability company. By creating an account or using BORD you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use BORD.
How we handle your information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
You must be at least 18 years old. BORD is an adults-only service and is offered in the United States only. We confirm your age with Google Play or Apple when you sign up; if they do not confirm you are 18 or over, we do not create the account.
You may not use BORD if we have previously terminated your account, or if you have ever been convicted of a sexual offence involving a minor.
Tell us at ry@bordsocial.app if you think someone else has got into your account.
BORD exists so people can meet and talk. These are the things that get you removed.

What you post remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your photos, messages or posts.
To run the app we need your permission to use it in the ordinary ways the app requires: storing it, displaying it to the people you shared it with, and making the copies and resized versions needed to show it. That permission is worldwide and royalty-free, it exists only to operate BORD, and it ends when the content is removed — subject to the retention described below. We will never use your content in advertising or sell it.
You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it.
When you delete a message it disappears for everyone, including you. We keep our own copy, and we keep previous versions of messages you edit. This is so that an abusive message can still be reviewed after its author removes it. Those copies are used only for reviewing reports and safety complaints. Our Privacy Policy explains this fully.
BORD is free to use. BORD Premium is an optional paid subscription that removes ads and unlocks additional features.
BORD shows advertising, which is what keeps it free. Everyone on BORD is an adult, so ads may be personalised. Subscribing removes ads.
We are not responsible for what advertisers say or sell. Dealings with an advertiser are between you and them.
You can report or block any user from their profile, and report individual content. We review reports and may remove content, suspend an account, or terminate it permanently.
Enforcement is entirely at our discretion. We may warn you, issue a strike, hide or delete your content, limit what your account can do, suspend it, or ban it permanently — at any time, with or without notice, with or without a warning first, and with or without cause. We do not have to show that you broke a specific rule, and we do not have to give you a reason. We may act on one incident or on a pattern, on a report from another user, or on nothing more than our own judgment that someone is making BORD worse for the people around them — including behaviour that is simply hostile, disruptive or unpleasant rather than against a rule listed above.
BORD is a private service. Access to it is something we offer, not something you are owed, and nothing in these terms requires us to keep any account open or to reinstate one we have closed. There is no right of appeal. If we choose to explain a decision once, that does not oblige us to explain any other.
If we suspend or terminate your account, any unused part of a paid subscription is not refunded, except where the app store's rules or the law require otherwise.
You can stop using BORD at any time and delete your account from Settings or from our website. You do not need our permission or a reason.
We work hard to keep BORD running and safe, but we provide it "as is". We do not promise it will always be available, error-free, or that you will get on with the people you meet on it. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
BORD does not run background checks on its users. Take the same care meeting people from BORD that you would meeting anyone else from the internet.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bord Friends, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of BORD.
Our total liability to you for any claim relating to BORD is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some states do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as that state allows. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
If someone brings a claim against us because of what you posted or did on BORD, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs in dealing with it.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Please read this section carefully — it affects your legal rights. It requires most disputes to be resolved by an individual arbitrator rather than in court, and gives up your right to a jury trial and to take part in a class action. You can opt out within 30 days.
Before starting arbitration or filing anything, email ry@bordsocial.app describing the problem and what you would like done about it. Give us 30 days to sort it out. Most problems are faster to fix this way, and neither of us wants the alternative.
If we cannot resolve it, you and Bord Friends, LLC agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to BORD or these terms will be settled by binding individual arbitration, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court.
The arbitration will take place in Marion County, Indiana, or by phone or video, or in your home county if you prefer — your choice. An arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could. Their decision is final and can be entered as a judgment in any court.
Either of us may still:
Disputes will be brought individually. You and we both give up the right to bring or take part in a class action, collective action, or representative proceeding, and an arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of class proceeding. You and we both give up the right to a jury trial.
You can decline this arbitration agreement. Email ry@bordsocial.app within 30 days of first accepting these terms, with your username and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out costs you nothing and changes nothing else — we will not close your account or treat you differently for it. If you opt out, disputes go to the state or federal courts in Marion County, Indiana, and you and we both consent to those courts.
If 25 or more similar claims are filed against us by or with the help of the same lawyers or firm, they will be treated as a group rather than as separate cases. The claims will be arbitrated in batches of no more than 50 at a time — each batch decided by a single arbitrator, each claimant still getting their own decision on their own facts — with the next batch starting once the previous one is finished. Time limits are paused for claims waiting on a later batch, so nobody loses their claim by waiting.
If the arbitrator decides a claim, or a defence to one, was frivolous or brought for an improper purpose, they may order the party who brought it to pay the other side's reasonable costs and fees, to the extent the applicable rules allow. This applies equally to you and to us.
If the class-action waiver in 11.4 is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim proceeds in court and the rest of this section still applies to every other claim. If any other part of this section is unenforceable, the rest of it survives.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app and update the date at the top. Continuing to use BORD after a change means you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.
